Project: Indie RPG a Week

I'll be honest with you all: I have a lot of indie RPGs, RPG zines, and solo journaling RPGs that I've been collecting over the last couple of years. I keep buying them with the intention to play, but then life happens and I never quite get there.

A lot of indie RPGs

I'm hopeful that a little accountability will go a long way.

So, for as long as I'm able to keep it going, I'm going to choose one of these beautifully written, wonderfully designed TTRPGs to read, learn, digest, and play. I'll start off with the solo RPGs, since those are easiest to jump into, and then start to ripple out into two players and finally, larger scale indie RPGs that will require multiple sessions. The latter part of this project will likely expand to multiple weeks (maybe more?) to ensure that we're giving each of these a fair shake.

For my first solo RPG, I'm going to dive into All Night Breakfast at the Midnight Owl. I've been meaning to play this for months and haven't carved out the time.

I'll play the game, document my experiences, and come back here (as well as on my Instagram) to write about it. This doesn't come from a need to "make content" about what I'm doing. It comes from a place of deep curiosity and a desire to share that beyond the walls of my own consciousness. (And from a desire to annoy my partners just a little bit less about my RPG hyperfixations.)

Let's see how this goes.

I'll see you all at the Midnight Owl.
